I’m a mid-40’s male who moved to Illinois in 1996, having previously lived in Carson City, NV, throughout Iowa, and in SE Minnesota, where I grew up. An avid sports fan, I root for the true “America’s Team”, the Minnesota Twins, who do marvelous work within the constraints of a tight budget, call them the anti-Cubs, because they win and play the game right.
I also fervently follow University of Minnesota sports, the Minnesota Wild, and the Minnesota Timberwolves. I used to like NASCAR, but they’ve systematically ruined it over the last few years. Of all the major sports, NFL football is my least favorite. Call me crazy, but I get no entertainment from watching guys that should be in jail brutalize each other so about 32 really rich dudes can get even richer.
Politically, I am not a fan of the far right nor the far left. I am a moderate, and therefore the moderate William Clinton is a political icon to me. I believe George W. Bush and his cronies have formed the most corrupt, inept, and dangerous administration ever and because of them, moderates such as myself have begun to be protrayed as the far left. It’s simply not true. GWB is far and away the worst president in the history of this land, and Dick Cheney should be in prison for life, if only for the safety of the citizens of this country. I believe the religous right and the NRA join the taliban as the most dangerous enemies facing a free America today, and I believe PETA is gaining ground on them.
