His father had a permit...and guns. Maybe, then, the gun laws should start to include those who leave their guns accessible. Maybe this freak's father should be charged with accessory to murder, and get convicted, and do serious time. Maybe then some of these so-called "responsible" gun owners would start to take more caution. Correct, he did NOT have a permit, but there are dozens of stories about how he had easy ACCESS to a gun. His father had a permit…and guns. Maybe, then, the gun laws should start to include those who leave their guns accessible.

Maybe this freak’s father should be charged with accessory to murder, and get convicted, and do serious time. Maybe then some of these so-called “responsible” gun owners would start to take more caution.

Didn't know the guy, but obviously a positive influence on the community and its youth. And you're right, the gun laws in this country are a joke. They do nothing to get the illegally possessed guns away from those who shouldn't possess them. They also do not punish those harshly enough for their illegal use and possession. Don't think so? The kid who shot up Woodruff High School a few years ago is out and walking around!! Why? I don't know about anyone else, but this enrages me. You shoot up a school, endangering lives of students in an enclosed stairway 4 years ago and he is out?I'm not saying there aren't people who legally own guns that probably shouldn't, but I bet illegal possession and use are far more the problem than the few legal owning whack jobs out there.
