Latest Cat Layoffs Hit A Buddy

One of the 175 UAW workers that found out yesterday he’s being laid off this week at Cat-Mapleton is one of my best buddies. We were chatting online last night and he told me the news, the closest I’ve been to the layoffs at Cat. You know it’s going on, and you feel for all of them, but it just hits a little harder when it’s a pal.

His job, as it was reported in the PJStar this morning, heavily depended on the output of the LaFayette, IN plant. It’s all so intertwined. Here’s hoping the recent good news turns into increased production at these and other facilities, and good hard working folks get their jobs back.

    BJ,
It seems like everyone I know who works at Cat is getting laid off. It’s depressing.
