I made a semi-angry post last week about AIG and their “smug execs”. In doing so, I broke my own rule about “generalizing” and lumping all people or things into one bucket, regardless of subject. This morning, I read the letter of resignation from Jake DeSantis, AIG-F.P., to Mr. Liddy, the CEO of the company.
In light of reading the letter, I removed my post, and apologize to those (who will never read this, but it helps me relieve the guilt anyway) at AIG who are being wrongly implicated in this mess.
I should have known better than to lump ALL AIG execs into one group. Shame on me. I still feel the same way about those who brought about that company’s woes. And I still feel the same way about the nature of the relationship between the previous administration’s VP and certain parts of the AIG umbrella.
But I was wrong to include all execs, and wrong to not input the entire story into my brain before making a comment.

How about how Obama knew about the bonuses a long time ago but feigned ignorance when he railed against them??
