Listening to a right wing talk show over the weekend on AM radio, and the guest was discussing how President Obama’s “redistribution” of monies might indeed be “discrimination”. He called it Financial Discrimination, and said he thought the mega rich would “have a case” against the government.
The host then said “so you think the best way would be a ‘flat tax’”? And the guest said, “that’s what I would propose as the best option” to make things equitable. He then went on to mention how he was a Libertarian. Funny, the Libertarian Party’s official stance on the flat tax is “against”.
I would also think this guy would find resistance from the very mega rich he thinks would support a flat tax. Imagine the mega rich somehow not getting their tax breaks and actually paying in. Whoa.
Needless to say, I found it quite ironic that the guest would say it is the RICH that are being “financially discriminated” against. Wow.

Yes, let’s start a charity. The slogan will be: “You can feed a hungry millionaire or you can turn the page”.

In an honest, objective world, 1/2 the tax code couldn’t be justified. Starting from there….
