Tales Of Racist Hate

People Are Jerks · Racism

Far-right wing Neo-con Fundamentalist hate mongers talk a lot these days about fear. The Bushies spent the last 7 years trying to scare us every day, to keep us living in fear of “the terrorists”.

Well, do you know what I fear? I fear what will happen if these freakin’ kooks and their followers ever get control of our country.

Check out today’s wonderful news.

For those too lazy to read, here’s a couple of my least-favorite excerpts from that harrowing, sickening, disgusting story:

- Four North Carolina State University students admitted writing anti-Obama comments in a tunnel designated for free speech expression, including one that said: “Let’s shoot that (N-word) in the head.” Obama has received more threats than any other president-elect, authorities say.

_At Standish, Maine, a sign inside the Oak Hill General Store read: “Osama Obama Shotgun Pool.” Customers could sign up to bet $1 on a date when Obama would be killed. “Stabbing, shooting, roadside bombs, they all count,” the sign said. At the bottom of the marker board was written “Let’s hope someone wins.”

_Racist graffiti was found in places including New York’s Long Island, where two dozen cars were spray-painted; Kilgore, Texas, where the local high school and skate park were defaced; and the Los Angeles area, where swastikas, racial slurs and “Go Back To Africa” were spray painted on sidewalks, houses and cars.

_Second- and third-grade students on a school bus in Rexburg, Idaho, chanted “assassinate Obama,” a district official said.

I highlighted the locale in each instance, to show that is isn’t relagated to the Deep South. This racism is all over. And it’s sickening. But I bet those parents of those ignorant second and third graders in Idaho are proud. Morons. What do local GOP’ers have to say about these actions? I’d love to hear from you. And what, if anything, are you going to do about it?

Why should “the GOP” be expected to comment on the actions of knuckleheads? I don’t expect Democrats to apologize for the actions of the Klan, even though there’s a former Klansman serving in the Senate as a Dem.

Alright Bill, we can settle this. Put your citizen journalism to the test and find these bozos. All you have to do is ask them one simple question: “Are you a Republican or a Democrat.”

Let me know how that goes.

The fact of the matter is, the Republican Party has been pandering to these people for quite some time. When Rush Limbaugh repeatedly airs “Barack the Magic Black Man” to the vast amusement of his listeners, it does more than simply hint at the GOP being the official party of racists and bigots. We don’t have to pretend we don’t know about this reputation. It’s not a big secret and there’s a veritable mountain of evidence to deny before we can start playing coy.

Here we go, how about the GOP stops courting the racist vote? That will solve three issues: 1) the expectation that they ought to apologize will no longer be necessary; 2) the embarrassment over seeking the racist vote when they know those people act like this will not exist; and 3) the guilt over not apologizing even though they know they damn-well should will not be necessary.

Examples 2 and 4 aren’t even racist. Way to fail.

Yeah, because they totally have a plethora of other reasons to want him dead. Talk about failing.
