As a more casual football fan than I was as a kid, I don’t get as upset when teams I like lose games like I used to. That being said, it’s still pretty frustrating to watch the best running back in the NFL right now, Adrian Petersen, a kid who has a chance to be the best ever, and seeing his talents wasted because of a pathetic head coach.
Two weeks into the NFL season, we know this: Minnesota is better than Green Bay and yes, even Indianapolis, in these areas: offensive line, running game, running backs, defensive line, linebackers, overall defense, kicking game, punting game, and much more.
Where is Minnesota lacking? Head coach and QB.
What are the two most important positions that an organization must be at least competent to contend for the Super Bowl? Head coach and QB.
Minnesota is a potentially great team saddled right now with the George W. Bush of coaches, Brad Childress, who’s never made a mistake (just ask him), and a QB (Tavaris Jackson) that makes Brownie’s handling of New Orleans after Katrina look like an effective operation.
Here’s how bad it is…I’d take Lovie Smith and Rex Grossman over what the Vikes have in those two spots right now. That’s how bad it is.
Ugh.
