For Billy Dennis. This is the definition of commentary, and the fact that it’s right on only accentuates how well it’s done.

Bravo, sir. Well said. Well said.

The silver lining to the Wright controversy is that it is happening now and not in August.

And the number of media outlets in the bag for the Obama Nation increases by one.

To paraphrase Vonster in language he understands: “SOMEWUN SED SUMTHING GUD UBOUT A LIBERAL PINKO COMMIE FAGGOT SO THEY R OBVEEUSLY SUBVIRTID MOWTHPESUS 4 TEH DEMOKRATIK PARTEE”

Notice which words are spelled correctly. Such is the fascist mindset.

Vonster, maybe you’ll get banned from BJ’s site, like me.

That’s what the angry left does. Shout differing ideas down. Like Buckley said…

“Liberals claim to want to give a hearing to other views, but then are shocked and offended to discover that there ARE other views.”

  • 11    reno // Mar 20, 2008 at 10:19 pm

Not tolerating conservative lies is a far cry from “Shout(ing) differing ideas down.”

    Tsk.

When are you all going to realize that, until you have several hundred million dollars with which to stuff politicians’ pockets, or a militia large enough to make a dent, nothing you say or feel is going to make a damn bit of difference in the way our federal government goes about its business. The gap between the local and state governments and federal government has grown so large, and so much power taken away from the states, that the voice of the independent-thinking American has been drowned out by the sheer numbers of sheep in the large population centers, living their lives with their eyes glued to 24 hour propa..er…news networks who tell them what to think and when to think it.

Heh, good point. I think it’s epitomized by Dick Cheney, in response to the numbers showing two-thirds of Americans oppose the war, he says,”So?”

  • 15    vonster // Mar 21, 2008 at 10:20 am

    Who’s numbers? Which push-poll?

  • 16    reno // Mar 21, 2008 at 11:29 am

Yeah, your guys are ones to talk about push polls. Let me put some actual Republican arguments and statements into poll question form:

Q: Do you want to protect America, or do you want to give the same rights we enjoy to the terrorists who want to kill us?

Q: Are you in favor of protecting the economy or would you rather drive American countries out of business?

Q: Do you love your country, or are you some kind of unpatriotic traitor?

Like anybody is going to answer the latter choice for these.

  • 17    vonster // Mar 21, 2008 at 11:49 am

    Hyperbole, Reno…..

  • 18    mortonmalaise // Mar 21, 2008 at 12:07 pm

    Reno,
I saw that clip of Dick Cheney on The Daily Show last night. I wasn’t the least bit surprised.

  • 19    reno // Mar 21, 2008 at 1:14 pm

MM, me either. The guy has made it quite clear for a number of years that he just doesn’t give a shit. Hell, he’s still saying there’s a link between Iraq and 9/11. Dumbassery abounds.

Vonster, not hyperbole in the slightest. Question 1 refers to Bush’s claim that the Democrats want to extend our rights to the terrorists for not passing his preferred version of the FISA bill, which grants immunity to his CEO buddies–correction: the honorable, patriotic, selfless, noble telecom companies. Extend our rights to the terrorists? Now that’s hyperbole.

Question 2 is the same kind of B.S. where opposition to using taxpayer money to bail out private investment firms with more money than God at their disposal somehow equates to the desire to drive American companies out of business is asinine. Hyperbole.

Question 3 is what we heard over and over whenever the Bush administration was challenged over its policies between 2001 and 2003, and even part of 2004. They still use the now-useless rhetoric, only the Left finally grew a pair and stopped being intimidated by it. “Do as we say and don’t you dare dissent!” was the message that was being sent. C’mon, I’m addressing problems with the country, and somehow that makes me an America-hater? Not hyperbole. Bullshit.
