News came today that Senator Pete Domenici (R-New Mexico) is retiring due to a degenerative brain condition. In his own words, he said he had concluded that it would be wrong to seek re-election if he could not pledge that he could ably complete another six-year term.
Mr. Domenici’s voting record shows he’s pro-business, pro-life, anti-public health, anti-senior citizen, rates “0%” on civil rights, rated 100% by the christian Coalition, rates an “A” with the NRA, and he’s anti-environment, which means I disagree with him on virtually everything, as for the most part he’s a staunch far-right Republican, but I still wish him best of luck in battling this disease, and feel for his family and loved ones.
I just can’t help wishing that some guys who work down the street from him in the White House would join him in retirement, but I’m sure they won’t.

Actually, BJ, they will. All three terms will expire in 2009.

I should have clarified: I meant I wish they would retire tomorrow. If not sooner.
Actually, as soon as we knew that Bush/Cheney had some kind of mental disorder (1999 campaign and all the crap they pulled could have been the first clue, no?), I think they should have retired.

Nope, sorry, won’t be on that ticket. I do, however, expect to see you on that FPA ticket someday soon, Vonnie. Oh, wait, that would require you having to be seen in public.
But to your credit, at least on line you don’t hide behind a false facade, you use your real name (or part of it at least).
