I keep hearing about how wonderful Aaron Schock is and how he’s already locked up the GOP nomination for Ray LaHood’s seat. Fair enough. But it seems to me he’s been in “campaign mode” ever since he came on the scene.
So my questions: What has he done in office? What has he accomplished? What is his true track record?
I see all kinds of posts on other sites about all the wonderful things he’s done. If it’s true, great! I might have to take a look at voting for him. So fill me in…what has he done?

From the Journal Star I know he’s been very pro-Ameren. He also made a statement about abolishing all forms of abortion a few years back.
Honestly, he slipped under my radar. Not because I underestimated him, but because I always thought he was inconsequential overall. I met him once at a bowling alley before he launched his first campaign. Seemed like he got most of his political advice from Rush Limbaugh. My first impression: I was fairly conservative at the time, and I still thought he was full of it. I’ve hardly paid attention to him since.
But, that could be because he’s not really doing anything, right?

He jumped on the bandwagon late in the game to help sponsor & support the passage of HB 429. Which means if it eventually goes to Blago, it means Illinois citizens can no longer buy wines or spirits from out of state retailers. There are a lot of wines and spirits not brought into IL because it is not profitable for liquor distibutors to do so. We have had this right for 12 years. While you may find domestics available from producers themselves, imports are a different story. I wrote and e-mailed Schock’s office and didn’t even get a form letter response. I really would liked to have heard his “logic” behind this one. This is a big issue for me and you already know how I’m voting…A.B.S.
