A Good Year for the Outlaw

Good For The Bears

Anyone who knows me knows I will never root for the Bears or Cubs. My least two favorite teams in all of sports.

But I give the Bears a major thumbs up for cutting Tank Johnson today. The guy thinks he’s above the law, he’s obviously not very smart, and he thoroughly embarrassed an employer who had stood behind him much longer than they should, mainly because he’s a good football player, and as we know the NFL has long let being a “good football player” triumph over being a “responsible adult”.

So big ups to the Bears. I don’t want to hear the whiny “why don’t we wait for the toxicology report” BS. The idiot should have never put himself anywhere NEAR a situation like the one he just did out in Phoenix, given what he’s put the Bears through for the last year.

He should be in jail for the weapons crap he pulled last year, but his celebrity kept him out. He shouldn’t, at the very least, have been allowed to leave the state to play in the Super Bowl last year, but they let him. A judge who probably wouldn’t get re-elected in Chicago if he had forced Tank to stay home was pressured into letting him go to Miami.

But now this. Go away, Tank. Just go away. You, and Pacman Jones, and all the other criminals and steroid abusers populating the NFL…and baseball, basketball, and hockey for that matter…need to just go away. And shame in advance on the team that gives Tank Johnson another chance. And mark my words, he will get another chance. Because the NFL doesn’t get it anymore than the idiot players do. But at least, in this case, the Chicago Bears have said “enough”. And I’m good with that.

I would agree with you about this to a point but if the Bears were truly dedicated to holding Tank to higher level, they wouldn’t have let him play in the Super Bowl. It suited them that he played in the Super Bowl so he did.
